Paul Cassirer, a leading German Jewish art dealer, attempted to commit suicide.
Herr Cassirer was a foremost exponent and defender of the impressionist school of art. He introduced French impressionism to the Germans and widely popularized Max Liebermann, George Kolbe and Max Slevogt, the German impressionists.
