The requirements of kosher food by the Jewish community in Switzerland were given consideration by the French government in the promulgation of export restrictions.

Among the products exempted from the export restrictions are 800 quintals of kosher meat, which are permitted to be exported from France monthly for use by the Jewish community of Switzerland, where the schechita is prohibited.
