The fiftieth anniversary of the existence of the Jewish theatre in Russia was celebrated in Charkoff.
Representatives of the local Soviet of the social and cultural organizations and of the trade unions addressed the gathering. Telegraphic greetings were received from the praesidium of the Ukrainian Executive Committee.
One-half of the fund of $250,000 sought to erect a Jewish community center in Jacksonville, Fla., was raised in the campaign which closed without having attained the goal. It was decided to continue the drive during January.
