Over fifty per cent of the students in the elementary schools of Tangiers are Jewish, according to statistics compiled by the French Government. Of the total of 2151 pupils in the elementary schools, 1110 are Jewish, 529 Spanish, 328 Moslem, 115 French, 21 Italians. The enrollment in the secondary schools totals 526, including 239 Jewish pupils, 146 French, 76 Spanish, 13 Moslem and 6 Italian.
