German Anti-semitic Paper, “beobachter”, Fined

(Jewish Telegraphic Agency)

A fine of 500 marks was imposed upon a dealer for exhibiting an anti-Semitic picture in his shop.

The Cassel court fined the dealer Dolzberg 500 marks for exhibiting a picture from Hitler’s organ, “Der Illustrierter Beobachter.” The picture alleges to portray Jews cutting the throat of Saint Rudolf and catching the blood in a vessel.

The state attorney declared that by the inscription “Judenspiegel,” the picture publicly insults a religious community. The court ordered the confiscation of all copies of the issue of the “Beobachter” in which the picture is printed and the destruction of all plates from which the picture was made.
