Hakoah Wins Austrian Swimming Championships

Guth and Loewy, two members of the Hakoah Vienna sports club, were the winners of the women’s and men’s swimming championships of Austria for 1927. The championship swim comprised the length of the city on the Danube. They were presented with wreaths tied with the blue and white colors.

Another Hakoah member. Ernst Stern made the record for the swim from Vienna to Krems, a distance of 75 kilometers, which he covered in seven and a half hours. Stern is preparing to swim the English Channel. He will be the first Austrian to make this attempt.
