The expenditure of the British Government on the military administration of Iraq and Palestine was considerably decreased, the British Government declared in its Middle Eastern estimates submitted to the House of Commons.
This expenditure was decreased by £936,500 and now amounts to £2,519,000. Palestine’s share in this expenditure amounts to £166,600.
The Government, in this paper further reviews the economic condition of the country and states that stepe have been taken to improve the marketing of citrous and other fruits. Fourteen government forest nurseries, including over a million trees, are functioning.
The estimates also mention the municipal elections recently held in Palestine, the reorganization of the defense force and the four and a hald million pound loan which is to be floated by the Palestine Government with the guarantee of the Exchequer.
