(Jewish Telegraphic Agency)

Meyer Berkowitsch, a Jewish passenger on the Tilsit-Memel waterway, was thrown into the water by another passenger. Berkowitsch, who was a native of Neustadt, was drowned. He was 25 years old.

The culprit, who was arrested, could give no other reason for his act than the fact that the passenger was a Jew.
