No Agitation Can Prevent Modification of Numerus Clausus, Klebelsberg Says

“No agitation can prevent the fulfillment of our promises to abolish the limitations for Jewish students,” declared Count Klebelsberg, Hungarian Minister of Education, in a letter published in the “Neue Freie Presse” yesterday.

“Every Hungarian knows,” Count Klebelsberg continued, “that Jewish efforts contributed to Hungary’s strength. The numerus clausus law, as well as the anti-Semitic scandals of the last week, are to be deeply regretted. Count Bethlen and I decided a long time ago to abolish the limitations against Jewish students and no agitation can prevent the fulfillment of our promises,” he declared.
