A publicity campaign for the Jaffa orange is one of the recommendations made to the Palestine Government by the Fruit Commission, under the chairmanship of J. E. F. Campbell, Commissioner for the Southern District, which was appointed recently by Lord Plumer to make recommendations for the better preparation and marketing of local citrus and other fruits.

The Commission also recommends the establishment of a Fruit Research Station, immediate commutation of tithe followed by the earliest possible substitution of the tithe by a land tax, simplification of customs formalities and trade representation in the United Kingdom.
