Safonov, a Jewish policeman on guard near the Petach Tikva railway station was shot and instantly killed last night.

The murderers were not caught. It was stated at police headquarters that the crime was committed by thieves in an attempt to escape.

A reward of £ 200 was offered by the police for information leading to the arrest and conviction of a person or persons guilty in the shoorting last Friday night on King George avenue, Jerusalem, when an Arab was shot and another seriously wounded.
