The arrival here from Jerusalem of a delegation of the Jewish National Fund was the occasion for a renewed demonstration of enthusiasm and interest in the Palestine work.

The delegation, composed of Messrs. Bistrizki, Harzfeld, Bonfeld, Esrachi and Rabbis Shapiro and Berlin, proposes to launch a National Fund campaign in Poland at a special conference of the Fund’s representatives, the slogan being: To enable the National Fund to purchase and prepare new land as national property in the expectation of a new immigration to Palestine.

At a reception and banquet given in honor of the delegation, under the chairmanship of Isaac Gruenbaum, representatives of all shades of Polish Zionism were present. About 5,000 persons were present at a huge mass meeting called to hear the reports of the delegation. The enthusiasm and interest displayed by the masses in the Palestine movement, following a long period of depression, was termed an indication of a new turn in Polish Jewry’s participation in the Palestine work. The speakers declared that the Palestine crisis has been liquidated and that Polish Jewry is duty bound to assume its responsibility for the fate of the forthcoming new immigration. Appeals were made that all factions join in the National Fund campaign.
