Rabbi Sonnenfeld Objects to Fast Day Called by Kook

Rabbi Chaim Sonnenfeld, leader of the ultra-Orthodox and determined opponent of the Zionist policy as well as of the policy pursued by the Chief Rabbinate of Palestine, objected Friday to the day of fast and prayer proclaimed for Monday by Chief Rabbi A. J. Kook, as a protest against the recent incidents at the Wailing Wall.

In a statement issued for himself and his followers. Rabbi Sonnenfeld urges the members of the Jewish community not to observe the fast proclaimed by Rabbi Kook. He expresses the hope that the government “will justly settle the Western Wall dispute.”
