Thousands of Palestine Jews assembled Monday in the synagogues and before the Wailing Wall to recite psalms prescribed for a fast day proclaimed by the Chief Rabbinate of Palestine.

The fast day was observed as a protest against the interference of British authorities with worshippers at the Wailing Wall on Yom Kippur and the subsequent attacks. Rabbis addressed the congregations in the synagogues on the sanctity of the relic of the Temple.
