Stranded on the Dead Sea in a motor boat which had run out of fuel, a party of distinguished Palestinian residents was rescued after being hunted for 24 hours by boats and aircraft. An aeroplane sighted them and took them back safely to Jerusalem.
The party of twelve, which included Harry Sacher, chairman of the Zionist Executive in Jerusalem, Edwin Samuel, son of Sir Herbert Samuel, former High Commissioner of Palestine, Mrs. Sacher and Mrs. Samuel, Dr. Norock of the Hebrew University, and Mr. Green, an architect, was due to return from a Dead Sea cruise on Saturday evening.
When they failed to return, a search was instituted by the Palestine and Transjordania police on both banks of the Dead Sea. They were missing all day Sunday and found early Monday morning.
