The arrangement whereby the Hebrew Shelter and Immigrant. Aid Society, the Jewish Colonization Association and the Emigdirekt (United Jewish Emigration Committee) jointly conduct their emigrant welfare work will be extended to April, 1933, according to a decision taken at a meeting of the Emigdirekt here.

the Emigdirekt decided to continue the arrangement on the condition that the Jewish Colonization Association furnish one half of the funds required, while the Hias and Emigdirekt together are to furnish the other half.

The meeting also decided to widen the field of activities of the Hicem, furnishing guarantee to the governments that immigrants will be skilled and able to carry on work in the country. The work of preparing immigrants for agricultural and industrial occupations will also be extended.
