It is learned that Sir Esme Howard, British Ambassador, called upon Secretary of State Stimson, late in the afternoon of Monday, a week ago to express personal regret over the reported killing of twelve American citizens in the disturbances in Palestine.

At that time, it is understood that he discussed the general situation in Palestine with Secretary Stimson and later stated that he had received no instructions previous to the interview for action on his part from the British Foreign Office. So far as known, Sir Esme has not seen Secretary Stimston again since.
