Thirteen were arrested when the Warsaw police dispersed a demonstration of Jewish Communists before the entrance to the Great Synagogue on Tlomackie during the Rosh Hashanah services.

Several hundred Communists, carrying red flags, gathered in the square. The police fired in the air. Among the prisoners was Pinchus Seidman, a Communist recently deported from Palestine.
