The establishment of a plantation company with a capital of $1,500,000 by Lord Melchett, is welcomed by the “Near East and India Magazine,” a publication said to be close to the British Colonial Office.
Lord Melchett’s company will raise oranges and other fruits on a large scale. Extensive land properties are already owned by the company for this purpose.
