Nathan Straus, Jr., son of the philanthropist of the same name, is being seriously considered as one of the three members of the newly created Sanitation Commission. The law under which the Commission becomes operative on December 1, provides that one member be a physician, one an engineed and the other a layman. Mr. Straus is being boomed as being particularly well equipped for the duties of the lay member. Mr. Straus is now president of the Parks Association of New York and is a former state senator.
