An “assembly of Brooklyn Jewish Women’s Organizations,” representing 75 societies of Jewish women in Brooklyn having a combined membership of at least 50,000, was formed this week for the purpose of preventing duplication of social welfare work by the women’s clubs. A constitution has already been adopted and the following officers elected:
Mrs. Louis Petchesky, president; Mrs. Saul Michaels. Mrs. Nathan Strauss, Mrs. Harry Schlein and Mrs. Philip Brenner, vice-presidents; Mrs. Charles I. Gordon, recording secretary; Mrs. Abraham Smith, corresponding secretary; and Mrs. Kate Emils, historian. The governing board will consist of Mrs. Henry Newman, Mrs. Joseph Horowitz. Mrs. Niman. Mrs. Samuel Klein, Mrs. Benjamin Spitzer, Mrs. Blanche Dansky, Mrs. Nathan L. Goldstein and Mrs. David Gingold. A treasurer will be elected later.
