The Ozet, society for settling the Jews on the land, may withdraw entirely from operative work in Bira Bidjan, Far Eastern Republic, it became known today. The question of whether the Ozet should continue the work of colonization in Bira Bidjan, now when a special government organization has been formed for Bidjan, or whether it should limit its activities there to cultural work was widely discussed at today’s meeting of the Ozet praesidium.
With the prevailing opinion in favor of cultural work only the pracesidium appointed Rachmiel Weinstein and its chairman Nagler to a control committee to investigate the question and report at the next meeting.
