The anti-Semitic attitude of the Austrian Heimwehr, hitherto denied by its leaders and spokesmen, was today revealed by M. Heubers, one of its leaders in Salzburg, in the course of an address on the Jewish question at a church meeting. He said that the Heimwehr was not conducting anti-Semitic agitation in particular but was merely demanding that “the Austrians control the economic life of their own country instead of it being in the hands of the Jews.”
