A determination to carry on the legacy of Theodor Herzl, founder of political Zionism, by disregarding the difficulties that Great Britain has been placing in the way of the Jews in Palestine, is expressed in a series of Herzl memorial meetings throughout Poland on the anniversary of his death 26 years ago. The meetings assumed the character of vigorous protests against the British policy in Palestine, particularly the suspension of immigration.
