Fearing that a continuation of the anti-Semitic disturbances will seriously impair the credit of Roumania abroad, the Roumanian cabinet decided today, after a hectic seven hour session, to give Dr. Alexander Vayda Voevod, minister of the interior, a free hand to use any means at his command for the strictest and immediate suppression of the attacks on the Jews.
DECISION HAS TWO-FOLD PURPOSE
This decision has the two-fold purpose of trying to avoid any more outbreaks and to bolster the confidence of foreign financial circles in the government’s ability to prevent the country from drifting into a state approaching anarchy.
