Jews should unite with Arabs against England in an endeavor to solve the present Palestine impasse, according to an opinion of Rabindranath Tagore, famous Hindu poet and philosopher, expressed last week in an interview with the Jewish Morning Journal. Dr. Tagore stated that he himself together with all Hindus is in fullest sympathy with Zionist aspirations. The Mohammedans of India, he said, have no relation to the Mohammedans of Palestine, though there is danger in inciting Moslems by playing upon their religious feelings.

“Jews were always the world’s teachers”, stated Dr. Tagore. “The task of the Jews now is not to beg of England, but to educate the Arabs to understand that you mean well and that by your coming to Palestine their material and cultural status will be raised. Thus you will be able to create a united front against England. England is only seeking its imperialistic purposes Since the Arabs can be quickly aroused over the most inconsequential things, England is seeking to perpetuate a state of war between the Arabs and the Jews, according to the ancient idea of Rome, ‘Divide and Rule'”.
