Although it is well known that most of the speakers are not friendly to the Jews they all endeavored to emphasize that they were well-disposed towards them but merely opposed Zionism. The reception was conspicuous by the absence of many members of Parliament, including Lords, who had previously definitely associated themselves with an anti-Zionist policy. Lately, however, they have been silent, probably in view of the Conservatives’ desire to gain the “Jewish vote” on the Palestine question for the next elections.
