A. W. Voorsanger, publisher, proprietor and editor of Emanuel, the oldest Jewish weekly on the Pacific Coast, is dead here after a brief illness. Mr. Voorsanger founded the paper in 1895 together with his brother, the late Rabbi Jacob Voorsanger.

Before entering the field of journalism he served as secretary of the San Francisco election commission. Prominently identified with all Jewish activities on the Pacific Coast, he was a leading member of the B’nai Brith and a Mason. He is survived by a son and a daughter.
