Albert M. Bender, widely-known San Francisco art patron and book lover, was notified today that he had been decorated by the Italian government with the Order of the Chevalier of the Crown of Italy. The award has been made in appreciation of his support of the Italian book exhibit held in this city last year.

It is expected that the decoration will be formally presented to Mr. Bender at a luncheon to be arranged by Fellini Ponce de Leon, consul-general of Italy in this city.
