Edmund Thomas, a Hitlerist storm trooper, was sentenced to death to-day by the law court at Glogau for murdering a Jewish merchant named Herbert Walter. Thomas told the court that he had killed Walter because he had abused Hitler. His deed was apparently one that he had boasted about, judging by a letter from his sweetheart read out to the court, in which she began by addressing him as “my dear beloved murderer”.
