The Minister of Lands, Mr. Grobler, delivered a strongly pro-Zionist speech to-day at a civic and Jewish communal reception given at Pretoria to Dr. Weizmann and Dr. Alexander Goldstein, who are heading the South African Keren Hayesod Campaign.
Mr. Justice Greenberg was in the chair at a banquet given this evening in honour of Dr. Weizmann and Dr. Goldstein, who addressed the gathering. £2,000 was raised at the banquet, more than double the amount raised at the Pretoria Keren Hayesod banquet during the previous campaign, which brought in £900. A canvass has been started of the Pretoria Jewish Community, which aims at raising £4,000 in the city for the Keren Hayesod.
