The valuable library of Rebbe Shapiro, known as the Munkaczer rebbe, was confiscated by the authorities today for alleged failure to pay his taxes.
The authorities claimed taxes in the amount of one million kronen, based on profits allegedly made on the sale of Pidyonoth, being bursaries paid by the chassidim when visiting the rebbe.
