2,000 Attend Rites for William Morris

Two thousand people attended the funeral services on Sunday of William Morris, theatrical agent and founder and president of the Jewish Theatrical Guild, held at Temple Rodeph Sholom.

Interment took place in Mount Hope Cemetery. Rabbi Stephen S. Wise, Rev. Abraham Burstein of B’nai Israel Community Center, Rev. B. A. Tintner of the Temple of the Covenant and chaplain of the Jewish Theatrical Guild, Rabbi Samuel Perlman of Temple Emanuel, Saranac Lake and Cantor Simon Schlager officiated at the services in the Temple and at the cemetery.

Eulogies were delivered by Rabbi Wise, George M. Cohan in behalf of the Friars Club, George Jessel in behalf of the Jewish Theatrical League, and Rev. John R. Atkinson.
