The anti-Semitic agitation of the Iron Guard which is spreading throughout Roumania, yesterday resulted in the death of an elderly Jewish woman in the town of Tecuci.

A Jewish merchant, Moise Cioara, of Tecuci, found a boycott appeal pasted on his door this morning. When he attempted to remove it, he was attacked by a mob of Iron Guardists. By firing in the air, Cioara managed to frighten his assailants sufficiently long to make his escape.

The incident frightened Cioara’s mother to such an extent that she suffered a stroke and succumbed.

The Jewish population demands the authorities take steps to restrain the boycott agitation and the hooliganism of the Iron Guards.
