The Cleveland campaign for the relief of German Jews, began here with a banquet at which the chairman, Judge Maurice Bernon, executive secretary of the campaign, announced gifts totaling $10,000. Two anonymous donors contributed $7,500 and $2,000 respectively and the rest was raised among the 500 campaign workers who attended the banquet. Miss Dorothy Thompson and Rabbi Abba Hillel Silver were the principal speakers.
