The Zionist Executive Committee has decided against postponing the World Zionist Congress in Prague this August, it was announced here today. Postponement had been requested by various parties, particularly by the Revisionists, who pointed out that grave tension has been caused among the Jewish masses by the murder of Dr. Chaim Arlosoroff, and that the German Zionist leaders would be unable to attend the convention in August due to trouble in their country.
The Revisionists demanded, instead of the world congress, the immediate calling of a meeting of the Actions Committee to discuss new plans.
Various Zionist groups in Palestine have also informed the executive committee here that they favor postponement of the world congress.
The Zionist Executive, however, decided not to delay the Congress, though, out of technical considerations, they decided to open the Congress in Prague five days later than was scheduled. Thus the World Congress will be convened August 21.
The session of the Actions Committee, which usually precedes the World Congress, will be convened August 15.
