A performance of the photoplay, “The Ugly Girl,” had to be discontinued here yesterday at the Atrium theatre on the Kaiserallee when an allegedly spontaneous demonstration broke out because members of the audience noticed Jewish-looking actors in the film.

Several in the audience began pelting the screen with rotten eggs and vegetables and when the manager of the house tried to restore order, he was howled down. He was compelled to order the performance discontinued.

The management of the theatre, however, announced that it had no intention of withdrawing the film and would continue to show it for the duration of the picture’s scheduled booking.
