The contemplated Moslem demonstration and march to the government offices arranged by the Arab Executive as a protest against continued Jewish immigration to Palestine and the sale of lands to Jews, failed to materialize today as a result of energetic intervention of the Palestine police.
As soon as the Moslems, including hundreds of Arabs who had come to Jerusalem for the demonstration, poured out of the Mosque of Omar after mid-day prayers, they were immediately surrounded by strong police detachments who finally succeeded in dispersing the crowd.
Eight Arab demonstrators and two policemen were injured when some of the Arabs tried to break through the police lines outside the Mosque.
