An Arab delegation, including only one member of the Arab Executive, Musa Kazen, presented a memorandum to the Palestine High Commissioner, Sir Arthur Grenfell Wauchope, this afternoon, protesting against recent developments.
Sir Arthur replied insisting that the government’s action in prohibiting the demonstrations called by the Arab Executive was justified since it was obvious that the leaders could not control the crowds.
He dismissed the fear expressed by the delegation that the Jews are coveting supremacy of the country and declared that he was ruling the country with justice and equity.
Replying to a question put by one of the delegation regarding the establishment of a Palestine parliament, the High Commissioner declared that as soon as the cooperation of the people of Palestine with the Palestine government and public security are assured, establishment of a Palestine legislative body will be made easier.
