The Mizrachi Organization of America has launched a drive to raise $200,000 for the Mizrachi Palestine Fund, officers announced following a conference held at the Hotel Pennsylvania.
The campaign will raise the money by means of a popular campaign and by the establishment of an organization to be called Agudath Bnei El Chai. Ten thousand members, each contributing the sum of $18, will be sought.
Regional conferences to be held throughout the country will be called by rabbis and other prominent Jewish workers.
Rabbi M. S. Margolies will confer with about a hundred orthodox rabbis in New York in this connection. The quota for the city is $75,000.
Members of the Board of Governors to consist of 500 rabbis and prominent orthodox leaders, will each be asked to contribute $100 to the fund. The organization will also make an attempt to secure 50,000 individual contributions of one dollar.
