The fifth annual convention of the New Jersey Branch of the United Synagogue of America will be held April 8 at Temple Emanuel Centre here, it was announced by Rabbi Charles I. Hoffman of Newark, president of the branch. “How to Strengthen the Synagogue,” will be discussed at the convention. Rabbi Hoffman also announced the appointment of Rabbi Herbert Parzen as field director of the New Jersey branch. Other officers include Rabbi Benjamin Plotkin, Jersey City; Dr. Hyman J. Landau, Orange; Morris B. Sherman, Orange, and Samuel Schechner, Newark.
