The wedding of Miss Frances Nathan Cullman, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Joseph F. Cullman Jr. to Robert Allan Jacobs, son of Mrs. Harry Allan Jacobs and the late Harry Allan Jacobs, took place last Sunday afternoon at Cedar Lodge, the home of the bridge’s parents, near Stamford, Conn. The Rev. Dr. De Sola Poole officiated. The ceremony took place at an altar built outdoors, under a bower of white flowers. A garden reception followed.
The bride was escorted by her father. She wore an ivory satin gown with a V-Neck, and long sleeves, trimmed with old rose point-lace, and her veil of tulle was draped from a coronet of rose point-lace that had been worn by her mother. She carried a bouquet of white orchids and lilies of the valley.
Miss Anita R. Cardozo, cousin of the bride, was maid of honor. she wore a bouffant gown of turquoise point despite, with a matching picture hat, and carried African daisies and tea roses.
The Bride’s other attendants were the Misses Virginia Wine burgh, Cornelia Ernst, Katherine Hellman, Jane Jacobs, Josephine Wertheim and Mrs. Edward rosinweed. They wore gowns of soft peach point d’esprit, with leghorn hats trimmed with peach, and they carried delphinium and African daisies.
James Wolf was best man. Ushers were Arthur Cullman, Joseph F. Cullman 3rd, Edward Kline, Edward Solomon, Harold Rhodes, Lewis Cullman, Edgar Cullman and Harry Jacobs.
A large tent and dance floor had been erected. refreshments were served and dancing lasted late in the evening. among guests who attended were Mr. and Mrs. Arthur Lehman Mr. and Mrs. Peter
Cohn, Mr. and Mrs. Leonard A. Hockstader, Mr. and Mrs. Albert Hockstader, Mr. and Mrs. Arthur Schulte, Mr. and Mrs. Edgar Hellman, Mr. and Mrs. Sam A. Lewisohn. Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Reckford, Mr. and Mrs. Richard Bernhard, Mr. and Mrs. Benjamin J. Buttenweiser and Mr. and Mrs. Albert Erdmann.
Mr. and Mrs. Jacobs left for Lake Placid. They will sail for Europe shortly, where they plan to spend about six months. Upon their return they will live in New York.
Mr. and Mrs. Benjamin W. Huebsch gave a luncheon at their home at 285 Central Park West in honor of Mr. and Mrs. Thomas Mann last Monday. The guests were Mrs. Guinzburg, whose son is associated with Mr. Huebsch in the Viking Press; Mrs. Phillip Lewisohn, Mr. Theodore Dreiser and Maurice Sterne.
Mr. and Mrs. Edwin M. Dannenbaum of Oak Lane Philadelphia, have announced the engagement of their daughter, Margaret Gimbel. to Mr. Edwin Wolf, son of Mr. and Mrs. Morris Wolf, also of Philadelphia. They will be married in July. Mr. and Mrs. Dannenbaum held a reception at their home last Sunday.
Mr. and Mrs. Thomas Liebman of 1327 Lexington avenue announced the birth of a son, Kenneth William, on Friday, June 1, at Doctors’ Hospital. Mrs. Liebman was the former Miss Alien Wechsler, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Walter M. Wechsler.
Mr. And Mrs. Henry S. Matzinger of sea Cliff, L. I., have announced the engagement of Mrs. Matzinger’s daughter, Miss Joan Guggenheim, to Charles Murray, son of Mrs., Charles Murray and the late Mr. Murray of New York.
The prospective bride is the daughter of Harry Guggenheim of Port Washington, former Ambassador to Cuba, and granddaughter of Mrs. Daniel Guggenheim of Sands Point. The wedding will take place June 15 at the Matzinger home in Sea. Cliff.
Miss Grace Klein, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Louis Klein, of 265 Stratford road, Brooklyn, will be married to Walter Dobb, son of Mr. and Mrs. Dobb, of 51. West Seventy-third Street, Manhattan, today.
The ceremony will be preformed by Rabbi Samuel Levinsen at the Bride’s home and will be followed by a dinner at the Hotel St. George The couple will reside at 39 Turner place, Broklyn.
