The Palestine surplus is piling up its millions, and during April and May of this year no less than £309,000 ($1,545,000) was added to it, bringing it up to the grand total of £2,820,000, or $14,000,000 by the end of May, 1934.

The government had estimated that its total surplus income over expenditure for the entire year of 1934-35 would be £233,000, yet, during the first two months of the fiscal year the sum was £300,000. It is likely, if the present rate of progress continues, that there will be a further £2,000,000 in hand, as “net profit,” by next March 31st.
