Tabernacles, which Polish Jews erected to celebrate Succoth, the Feast of the Tabernacles, became an object of attack for anti-Semites, who hurled flaming rags into the flimsily constructed tabernacles. The incendiary attacks were carried out in a number of Polish towns, apparently through a concerted plan.
