Zionists Act for Peace in Ranks

A series of peace parleys, designed to achieve peace between the various factions and groups within the Zionist movement, opened here today. The first of the series, between officials of the executive body of the World Zionist Organization, which is sponsoring the conferences, and the heads of the Zionist Revisionist movement, opened today and will continue until late tomorrow. The chief topic being discussed, it was ascertained, is the relation of the political groups to the parent body.

David Ben Gurion, Laborite member of the executive, and Professor Selig Brodetsky, head of the political department of the Jewish Agency in London, are representing the World Zionist Organization, while Solomon Y. Jacobi and Dr. M. Schwartzman represent the Revisionists.

The executive, it was announced, will hold similar conferences with the representatives of other political groups in the Zionist movement, and will then decide whether to call a general conference of all the groups, where differences will be thrashed out.

A movement to end the bitter internal conflict within the Zionist movement, which have resulted in sanguinary street clashes in Palestine, Poland, and other countries, has gained great impetus in recent months.

A conference of the world organization of General Zionists, held recently in Krakow, Poland, called upon the Zionist Executive to achieve peace in the Zionist ranks.

In Palestine, where the feeling has been most bitter, and where affairs had reached the stage of open battle between the Laborites and the Revisionists, Chief Rabbi A. I. HaCohen Kook took the lead in calling conferences between the two groups to end all conflicts.
