Mayor LaGuardia yesterday awarded medals of honor to three Jewish policemen who were among eleven to be honored at a ceremony on the steps of City Hall.

The three are: Wolf H. Silver-stein, of the Sixty-ninth Precinct Manhattan; Edward C. Bloom, of the 106th Precinct, Queens, and Harry Kroll, of the Thirteenth Precinct, Manhattan.

Silverstein was awarded the department medal of honor “for outstanding valor and determined conduct in personal combat at imminent risk of his life.” Bloom was given the police combat cross “for extraordinary heroism,” while Kroll was awarded the Walter Scott medal “for distinguished bravery in performance of duty.”
