A dramatic poem of 1,193 lines —"In Memoriam: 1933," by Charles Reznikoff — features the Autumn issues of The Menorah Journal. The issue also includes "Reason and Professor Morris Cohen," by James Feibleman; "The First Modern Jew," by Irving Fineman and "Origins in Germany," by Marvin Lowenthal."

Daniel Itzig, head of the Jewish communities of Prussia from 1764 to 1799, was a member of a wealthy banking firm, which greatly assisted Frederick the Great in his wars.
