Sir Oswald Mosley, “fuehrer” of the British Fascists, and three of his henchmen were committed to stand trial at Worthing today on a charge of riotous assembly after a blackshirt meeting in that city on October 9. They were also charged with assault. All four were released on bail after pleading not guilty.
Thirty witnesses testified during the preliminary hearing, which lasted four days. The prosecution contended that after the meeting, Fascists led by the four accused men walked up and down assaulting innocent and inoffensive pedestrians.
