Dr. Greiser, vice president of the Free City’s Nazi-controlled senate today told a Jewish delegation that he would not agree to the enactment of a special law for the protection of Danzig Jewry.

A delegation representing the Jewish community at a conference with Dr. Greiser, called his attention to the wave of anti-Jewish feeling created by inciting articles in the local Nazi press and the recent measures against Jewish professionals and artisans. He refused point blank to discuss special protective legislation for the Jews.

The chamber of attorneys met today and by a vote of thirty-eight to twenty-nine voted to reject a Nazi proposal to introduce the racial principle in the judicial system of Danzig.

Led by the Danzig Vorposten, the Nazi press has renewed its campaign against the Jews. Jewish pedestrians were insulted in the streets and the Jewish districts resounded with cries of “Hang the Jews.” A number of Jewish professionals were dismissed from their posts. Danzig Jewish artisans sent a delegation to the Warsaw Jewish community asking for intervention of central Jewish organizations.
