Polish Yiddish newspapers were openly jubilant over the transfer of the Huleh area in Palestine for Jewish colonization. They declared the purchase would end the disproportion between the number of Jews in the towns and on the land, promote cooperation between Arabs and Jews, and increase the absorptive capacity of the country.
